  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

One of the characteristics of the brain organ is the functional heterogeneity in the brain as compared to that of other organs in the body. Moreover local cerebral blood flow (1-CBF) changes is directly coupled with the changes of local cerebral metabolism. So the measurement of l-CBF in clinical cases is useful not only in speculating the local cerebral metabolism and local cerebral funcion, but also in understanding the pathophysiology of the brain.

Recently some methods of three dimensional mapping images of 1-CBF are developed and applied to the clinical cases not only in the stroke patients but also in the elderly patients with cerebral degeneration. In this report some clinical significances of 1-CBF mapping images by use of cold Xenon-CT and IMP-SPECT are presented.
