Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of carcinoma metastatic to the ciliary body with positive finding by 123I-IMP single photon emission CT(IMP SPECT). Case:A 46-year-old female presented with impaired visual acuity in her right eye. Her parents had had malaignant lymphoma. Findings and Clinical Course:Her corrected visual acuity was 0.1 right and 1.5 left. The right eye showed a white tumor in the ciliary body and choroid. IMP SPECT showed positive uptake in the right eye. The amount of uptake was less than that in 3 cases of malignant choroidal melanoma in the past. The eye had to be enucleated after total retinal detachment developed 6 weeks after her initial visit. The eye was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma metastatic from the lung. Conclusion:IMP SPECT is claimed to be positive in malignant melanoma. It may also be positive in metastatic adenocarcinoma to the eye.
