Granular cell tumor is a rare soft tissue tumor, and it is estimated to account for 0.5% of all soft tissue tumors. This tumor usually occurs in the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, and submucosa anywhere in the body, but especially around the head, neck, and tongue. Immunohistochemical analysis has indicated that granular cell tumors arise from Schwann cells. We report a case of granular cell tumor of the lower extremity in a 54-year-old female, and also present the radiological information for the preoperative diagnosis, including FDG-PET evaluation, in addition to the radiological modality of plain film, CT, MRI, and gallium scintigraphy, and the pathological findings in the resected specimen.
