  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We report six cases of skin ulcers that were treated with bFGF and PGE1. Four of the cases, were traumatic ulcers, and two of the cases were postoperative ulcers. After spraying the ulcers with bFGF, a PGE1 ointment was amply applied and the wounds were covered with a wet dressing. Granulation and epithelialization appeared after a mean of 8.3 days for the traumatic ulcers, and 41 days for the postoperative ulcers. bFGF spray strongly promotes granulation and vasculation, while PGE1 ointment promotes peripheral vasodilatation and anti-platelet mechanisms. This combined treatment is thus effective for traumatic and postoperative skin ulcers.
