A 49-year-old woman developed cancer of the transverse colon, which was followed by barium enema for 2 years and 10 months. During this period of time, the gross appearance of the lesion changed from sessile type, 6 mm in diameter, to a flat-elevated type with a central depression(Ⅱa + Ⅱc), 11mm in diameter. Examination of the resected specimen showed that the lesion was 9 mm in diameter with slight invasion into the submucosal layer. The doubling time of this cancer lesion was calculated as 12.9 months.
