要旨　吻合部ポリープ状肥厚性胃炎（stomal polypoid hypertrophic gastritis ; SPHG）は，1976年，古賀らにより報告された吻合部残胃にみられる特殊な胃炎である．類似用語にgastritis cystica polyposa（GCP）があるが，それぞれの原著論文における病変の成り立ち論からは，残胃癌の組織発生を論じる際には，SPHGを用いたほうがよいものと考えられる．本稿では，このSPHG由来の癌について概略し，その定義・頻度についてもふれた．

　The carcinoma of the gastric remnant derived from stomal polypoid hypertrophic gastritis（SPHG）, which was firstly reported by Koga, et al. in 1976, was described generally. In addition, the definition of SPHG was discussed. If the difinition for SPHG is strictly interpreted, the incidence of carcinoma derived from SPHG may be relatively and unexpectedly lowered.
