Intestinal bacterial flora and allergic diseases

アレルギー疾患の原因として，ヘルパーT細胞であるTh1とTh2のバランスがTh2に傾き，Th2型サイトカインが増加して，IgEが産生される機序が考えられている．腸内細菌叢の形成が未熟な新生児や腸内細菌叢が形成されていない無菌動物の免疫系はTh2に傾いており，Th1/Th2の適切なバランスの発達には，腸内細菌叢の形成による経口免疫寛容が重要な役割を果たしている．この機序を利用して，プロバイオティクスのアレルギー疾患に対する効果が検討されている．

It is considered that the Th2 cytokine related IgE production due to Th2 dominant Th1/Th2 balance is a cause of the allergic status in human beings. The immune systems of the axenic animal without an intestinal bacterial flora or neonates who have unripe formation of an intestinal bacterial flora leans to Th2 dominant status, and the oral immune tolerance by formation of an intestinal bacterial flora has played the important role in development of the suitable balance of Th1/Th2. The effect of probiotics on allergic diseases has been examined based on such an idea.
