Basal ganglia play key roles in eliciting emotional behavior : sensory-motor integration and emotion

基底核は大脳皮質と運動出力系の中間に位置していて，あらゆる感覚情報，運動情報，高次情報を処理・統合して運動系に送り，合目的的な運動や行動を可能にする。運動や行動をより活動的なものにするには，情動や感情などのわれわれのこころの内面を運動系へ反映することが必要となる。基底核は，辺縁系や前頭葉との相互の連絡をもち，これらを通して，情動や感情を運動や行動に反映する上に重要な働きをしている。

The basal ganglia locate between the cerebral cortex and motor output path. They receive sensory-, motor-and higher information, integrate and send them to the motor system. To make our action or behavior more living, it is crucial to reflect the internal world such as emotion, feeling and passion to the motor system. The basal ganglia via their intimate mutual connections between the limbic system and cerebral cortex play a key role in conveying emotion and passion to behaviors.
