　近視の度数別分類は諸家によつて数多く発表されているが，水晶体摘出手術（フカラ手術）の適応という考慮を織り込んだ分類には第1表のごときものがある。主題の極度近視（又は最強度近視）とは，概ねフカラ手術の適応となり得る極度に強い近視を意味する。

Myopia extrema means the myopia of the highest degree indicated for lens extraction (Fukala's operation). 3 cases.of such myopia were described : one case of -25 dptr and two cases of -18 dptr. Fukala's operation was performed in two cases and one cace of -18 dptr was treated by contact lens, all successfully. Then the author mentioned about the pathology and the therapy of mypia extrema.
