Close interdisciplinary collaboration between specialists has led to the development of a new low-dose radiation device named the EOS system. The EOS system has three main advantages;the dose of radiation is estimated at 800-1000 times less when compared to 3D reconstruction with CT scan. The images can be obtained in a standing posture where gravity plays an important role that can not be achieved with conventional supine CT scans. The 3D images provide comprehensive assesment of the horizontal or axial plane when see from the top view showing the helicoidal pile of the vertebrae with their volumetric value. The images can be scanned simultaneously from head to foot, both frontally and laterally.
