This study attempts to establish an intervention method for attempted suicide cases. Intervention by psychiatric occupational therapy for suicidal cases is rare. The patient was admitted to the hospital for attempted suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. He was irritated aggressive, and did not adjust well to the treatment environment. Although acute phase occupational therapy intervention was short, the performance of suitable activities and supportive psychotherapy helped the patient to understand his situation, and improved his self-assessment, thus enhancing his self-esteem. The study suggests that psychiatric occupational therapy can play an instrumental role in the treatment of attempted suicide cases.
