Our last discussion

　本講座も今回でいよいよ最終回となりました．長い間，読んでくださってありがとうございました．

　この講座を始めた目的は，英語の嫌いな人でもアブストラクトぐらいはなんとか自分で書けるようになって欲しいということでした．最終回を迎え，この目的は達せられたのだろうかと不安です．ここに登場したjunior technologistのように，今後一人でも多くの人たちが「国際学会で発表をしてやろう」，「英語で論文を書いてやろう」という意欲に燃えて，取り組んでいただければ幸いです．

Senior technologist: This is going to be our last discussion, I'm afraid. I learned something about how to write scientific English. However, my strongest impression from our discussions is that I should not assume that everything printed in a book or journal must be written in the best possible English. You seem to be telling us that we must always use our own judgement. Isn't that impossible to do when English is not our native language?
