　慢性リンパ性白血病（CLL）と以前より診断された56歳の男子が2か月ごとの血算及び白血球分類のために来院した．末稍血液標本中のリンパ球のうち，約10〜15％が細胞質中に小さな封入体（図1）を持っていた．

A fifty-six year old man previously^*1 diagnosed as having chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) came in for a routine two-month blood count and differential. Approximately 10 to 15 percent of the lymphocytes on the peripheral smear contained small inclusion bodies^*1 in their cytoplasm. (See Figure 1)
