Authors investigated on nomal blood volumes of Japanese adults applied on R125ISA method and analysed data by "Control Data 1300" type electric computer. Subjects were selected from healthy 108 men and 80 women, with age range of 16-59 years old. On measurement of blood volume, a well type scintillation counter "Aloka TDS-I" combined with scaler "Aloka TSM-I" and pulse height analyser was used.. Circulating blood volume were calculated from plasma volume using corrected hematcrit and, F-cell ratio 0.915.

The mean blood volume of men was found to be 72.4 ml/kg (weight), 2.454 l/m (height), 2.546l/m2 (body surface area) and mean he-matcrit value was 39.3 %. The mean of women was found to be 67.8 ml/kg, 2.165 l/m, 2.258 l/m2 and mean hematcrit value was 37.7 %. The computer analysis followed to Allen-Nadlers height-cubed body mass method was obtained as followed, predicted blood volume for male was 0.1682 H3+0.05048 W+ 0.4444 liters and for female 0.2502H3+0.06253 W-0.6620 liters where H was height expres-sed in meter, W was weight in kg. Authors discussed on subjects data compared to various method for blood volume prediction repported by those Albert, Baker, Hidalgo, Wennesland, Brown and Nadler. Japanese blood volume denoted a slight deviation from those caucasian type prediction, and arthors formulae were the lest error of 147.4 ml on male and 165. & ml on female on average.
