Multiple submucosal cysts of the stomach are relatively uncommon lesions. The case presented here revealed histologically enterogenous cysts of the stomach.

A 58-year-old man who showed submucosal tumors of the stomach on a health examination was admitted for further check-up. About ten years ago he had gastric ulcer without symptoms. X-ray and endoscopic examinations of the stomach revealed multiple submucosal tumors and linear ulcers on the corpus.

Histological study of the stomach by biopsy showed no malignancies. Partial gastrectomy was performed on December 21, 1974. Multiple submucosal cysts on the lesser curvature and two ulcer scars on the greater curvature were observed on the corpus.

Microscopically, the walls of these cysts were composed of the cells of the pseudo-pyloric glands, lymphfollicles and smooth muscles. They were just like the walls of the stomach with no relation to the scars of the gastric ulcers. This case was diagnosed as enterogenous cysts of the stomach by these findings.
