  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 38 year-old male had complaints of epigastric pain. The case showed the following characteristics which were confirmed by radiological and gastroendoscopic examination and was definitely diagnosed as malignant lymphoma by gastric biopsy, and was surgically treated.

Irregularly shaped multiple ulcers and scars were observed in a widely spread and very shallow type Ⅱc-like excavated area or with irregular coarse granular mucosal surface.

The margin of the excavated area was not clear and the niveau difference was not distinct. On the mucosal surface, many erosions were scattered, and the loss of luster was not so remarkable. At the end of the mucosal folds converging into ulcerative lesions, there was no rodent picture generally observed in case of gastric cancer.

This case had been placed on a strict medical treatment for one month. However, a new ulcer developed independently at another site.

Conclusively the characteristic pattern of the lesions may be a meaningful clue to the diagnosis of this kind of disease.
