Solid-cystic hidradenoma is a benign appendage tumor of the skin classified as a sweat gland tumor. It usually appears in adulthood as a small nodule, with a predilection for the head and trunk. Its appearance on the fingers is relatively rare, and it is difficult to histopathologically distinguish from digital-papillary adenocarcinoma. We treated a 44-year-old man with a left-thumb nodule; after the noduleʼs excision, it was difficult to histopathologically determine whether the tumor was a solid-cystic hidradenoma or a digital-papillary adenocarcinoma. We describe the patientʼs course and our findings.
